Signia – Multi-user XR application

Synchronised multi-user experiences for trade shows & product showcases

Signia XR Stand

Project

Development of a synchronised multi-user XR application for trade-show use. Up to eight people experienced a spatially consistent product showcase at the same time. Hearing aids were shown as interactive 3D miniatures, perceived in sync by everyone in the session.

Technical challenge

Multiple VR headsets had to stay in real-time sync while a moderator ran the flow centrally – without noticeable latency or sync glitches. The experience had to run reliably at high throughput across several trade-show days.

Solution

  • XRsync synchronisation for spatial consistency
  • Hardware and software provisioning for the VR headsets
  • Real-time sync across multiple VR headsets
  • Architecture tuned for live operation
  • On-site support and technical assistance

Project details

  • Client: Signia
  • Agency: R5 Region Five Media GmbH
  • Use case: Trade show, product showcase
  • Participants: 8 people simultaneously
  • Technology: XRsync

Outcome

  • Reliable demos without technical failures across multiple trade-show days
  • Strong feedback from visitors and the event organiser
  • Stable, repeatable walkthroughs

Govar – Trinity‑Tarot

Immersive frontend + TTS/STT + RAG backend

Problem

How do you build an interactive, voice-driven XR experience that understands complex questions and answers them inside the immersive space? Challenges: speech I/O, context-aware replies, and smooth integration between frontend and backend.

Outcome

  • Fully voice-driven immersive tarot session
  • Demo tested in a homelab under realistic conditions
  • Modular enough to extend to other content types

Solution

  • Unity-based VR experience with voice control
  • STT: Recognissimo (client) + Whisper (server)
  • TTS: ElevenLabs
  • RAG pipeline with vector DB + structured content
  • Event-driven backend orchestration

Learnings

  • Speech I/O in XR is feasible but needs strict latency management
  • RAG can add real value even in creative experiences

XR HUB Bavaria – Hubs instance

Metaverse infrastructure on Hubs Foundation

Problem

Deliver a stable, self-hosted metaverse stack for public-sector use, with full data sovereignty and straightforward content integration.

Outcome

  • Production-ready, controllable 3D spaces with full data ownership
  • Foundation for interactive workshops and online events
  • Load tests with multi-user scenarios passed successfully

Solution

  • Deployed a Mozilla Hubs Foundation instance on dedicated infrastructure
  • Tuned for WebVR/WebXR (Meta Quest, Pico)
  • Blender-based content workflow
  • Multi-user synchronisation

Learnings

  • Blender-native workflows speed up content production
  • Self-hosting reduces vendor lock-in and licence spend

Blickwinkel Tour – Splexit Multi‑User VR

Guided, synchronised VR tours

Problem

Guided VR tours needed to work in sync for groups—with clear roles and a stable real-time connection.

Outcome

  • Successful deployments at cultural and educational events
  • Stable with >15 concurrent users per session
  • Strong satisfaction scores from event feedback

Solution

  • Built a Unity-based system for synchronous multi-user experiences
  • Real-time sync (positions, interactions)
  • Role and permission model
  • Session management for live events

Learnings

  • Precise session management is critical to the guest experience
  • Cultural and educational settings benefit most from immersive group tours

Self‑hosted Productivity Suite

Open-source first for cost control & sovereignty

Problem

Avoid recurring SaaS fees while keeping full control of data for internal team tooling.

Outcome

  • No per-seat subscription costs
  • Full data sovereignty on owned hardware
  • Better integration hooks with internal processes

Solution

  • Implemented an open-source-first productivity suite:
  • Plane (project planning)
  • Docmost (documentation)
  • Rocket.Chat (communication)
  • Containerised infrastructure with automated backups

Learnings

  • Self-hosting cuts cost and increases how fast you can adapt tooling
  • A consistent container strategy simplifies maintenance and updates
