Blickwinkel Tour is an innovative project that utilizes XR technology to create immersive, educational experiences focusing on historical sites, for example the Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg. As a co-founder and Solution Architect, I am playing a crucial role in conceptualizing and developing this user experiences. The project integrates various VR elements to offer users a virtual exploration of significant historical events and locations.
The primary objective of Blickwinkel Tour is to provide an engaging and educational tool for historical learning. By offering immersive experiences through guided tours, the project aims to make history more accessible and relatable, particularly for educational institutions. The use of VR technology in these environments has still its challenges to overcome. Social acceptance, technical hurdles, dealing with the topic, financial stability and business opportunities have to be tackled.

Since its inception, Blickwinkel Tour has successfully engaged far over 1,000 users, providing them with unique, immersive educational experiences – on-location, in classrooms or in museums. Tour guides like to work with the app and participants enjouy the new media format. We received a lot of positive feedback for its innovative approach to historical education and we are now expanding its scope to include other historical sites.

With my internship company we did a bus VR tour as a company outing. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the aerial photos of the area! You learn the history much better with the VR glasses than with the history book in class or the signs on the site and you also learn many things that you, even as a Nuremberg resident, didn't even have on your radar. Highly recommended!

Thank you for the eventful tour of the Nazi party rally grounds.The historical background is clearly conveyed by the experienced guide and the impressions with the VR glasses show the planned gigantomania in the congress hall and at the Zeppelin field. Impressions from a hot air balloon over the entire area are also impressive. It is a successful historical event!

This is education at the highest level and of high quality in every respect that is offered here. 👌 From moderation to presentations to organization.The dimensions of the architecture and the projects are made tangible thanks to the technology. This makes it possible to understand what has been planned on the site in a much more comprehensive way than with conventional tours.
